One of the easiest ways to save money on your monthly bills is to make a few phone calls to your providers. With a little bit of work, you can usually cut down your bills quite a bit. If you don't have the time to wait on hold yourself, BillCutterz is a service that does the leg work for you for a small fee.
BillCutterz is pretty simple to set up. Once you create an account, you upload your last bill for services like electricity, cell phone, house payments, internet, and more. Then BillCutterz calls you within two days to discuss some of the details of your bills, how long you've been a customer, and get approval to access your accounts. After that, they call your providers and negotiate lower bills on your behalf. The BillCutterz fee is 50% of what they save you. So, if they save you $20 a month on your cell phone bill, you have to pay BillCutterz $10 a month. Alternately, you can pay out BillCutterz in a lump sum of 40% of the yearly savings. If they don't get you any savings, you don't owe anything.
I gave this a try last week and BillCutterz saved me about $10 a month on my Comcast bill, and $15 a month on my AT&T bill. It's not mindblowing savings, but considering I had to do absolutely nothing it's hard to complain. You can save money on your own with just a few phone calls and a little research, but if you don't have the time or skills to negotiate your own bills, BillCutterz is a simple way to make someone else do the work.
